White catnip
This native perennial is excellent for making a refreshing tea. The soft yet intensely lemony flavour of the flowers and leaves remains strong even after drying. This white-flowering cottage garden plant is frost-resistant and a true insect magnet. Pruning after flowering encourages a second bloom. Grows to about 60 cm in height.White catnip, also known as lemon balm, is a native wild plant in Germany that surpasses other catnips in aroma and is the only variety to maintain its flavour when dried. The herb of the plant is commonly enjoyed as an herbal tea infusion. This frost-hardy perennial is also particularly attractive to insects. It requires light for germination. Pre-cultivation begins around mid-March for planting in May.
