White catnip is a white-flowering sub-species of catmint with an intense citrus fragrance. In contrast to lemon balm, it also dries well for tea. Particularly attractive to insects. An old cottage garden plant that thrives in loamy soil. Frost-hardy perennial.White catnip, also known as lemon balm, is a native wild plant in Germany that surpasses other catnips in aroma and is the only variety to maintain its flavour when dried. The herb of the plant is commonly enjoyed as an herbal tea infusion. This frost-hardy perennial is also particularly attractive to insects. It requires light for germination. Pre-cultivation begins around mid-March for planting in May.
