Little Garden Crew: Piro
Seed packet for children in kindergarten and primary school age
It is best to sow lettuce in a shallow tray filled with very fine soil. Make a shallow groove with a small stick and scatter the seeds into it. Be careful to distribute them as evenly as possible. Cover the seeds with a very thin layer of soil and keep it consistently moist until the leaves start to sprout. Once the plants have a few larger leaves, carefully transplant them into your garden bed or a planter box, spacing them about the length of a large ruler apart. For leaf lettuce, you can start harvesting leaf by leaf from the outside inwards quite soon.
